History

In 2000, route 19 traveled from Central Station to 19th Ave & Rose Garden Lane. On January 14, 2002, the route was extended north to Deer Valley Airport and south to Cesar Chavez High School on Baseline Road. On January 22, 2007, route 19 was rerouted onto 15th Avenue between Campbell and Missouri due to light rail construction. On July 23, 2007, the northern end of the route was extended to Pinnacle Peak Road. On December 29, 2008, route 19 was reverted back to normal when the light rail opened. On January 23, 2012, the southern end of the route was truncated from Cesar Chavez High School to the new 27th Ave/Baseline Park and Ride. On January 28, 2013, more light rail construction resulted in route 19 being rerouted again, this time onto 7th Avenue between Bethany Home and Dunlap and a route 19C was created in between. On January 27, 2014, the branch to Deer Valley Airport was replaced by route 7. On October 26, 2015, route 19 was restored to 19th Avenue between Bethany Home and Dunlap and route 19C was eliminated. On October 23, 2017, the northern end of the route was extended to Happy Valley Rd & 23rd Ave.
