Mill Avenue/Kyrene Road
Route 65 was an alternative to route 66, serving a similar route that branched off of Mill Ave and Kyrene Rd. The final iteration of the route traveled from Ruby Dr & IKEA, along Warner Rd, Hardy Dr, Grove Pkwy, Kyrene Rd, Baseline Rd, Mill Ave, and 5th St, ending at Tempe Transportation Center.

History

- March 19, 2000 - Route 65 created, traveling from Kyrene Rd & Warner Rd, up Kyrene Rd, Baseline Rd, and Mill Ave, ending in Downtown Tempe
- July 23, 2007 - Loop around Downtown Tempe reversed
- July 28, 2008 - Southern end of the route extended down Kyrene Rd to West Chandler Aquatic Center (now Nozomi Aquatic Center) at Kyrene Rd & Frye Rd
- December 29, 2008 - Northern terminus adjusted to use the new Tempe Transportation Center
- January 25, 2010 - Southern end rerouted to travel from Ruby Dr & IKEA, along Warner Rd, Hardy Dr, and Grove Pkwy to return to Kyrene Rd to replace part of route 62 after it was rerouted
- July 26, 2010 - Northern loop around Downtown Tempe eliminated; both directions of the route now travel along 5th St and Mill Ave between University Dr and Tempe Transportation Center
- October 25, 2021 - Route eliminated and partially replaced by increased frequency on route 66 and modifications to route 62
