August 18, 1997 - The earliest known routing of route 8 traveled from 19th Ave & Southern Ave in a turnaround loop with Baseline Rd, 19th Ave, and Southern Ave, then traveled up 7th Ave, through Downtown Phoenix via Washington/Jefferson St, 1st St, and Fillmore St to serve the old bus terminal, then continued up 7th Ave and Dunlap Ave to Sunnyslope Transit Center
March 19, 2000 - By this point, route 8 had been modified to serve the new Central Station
July 8, 2002 - Southern end terminus moved to Baseline Rd & 7th St, using Baseline 7th Ave, Baseline Rd, 7th St, and Jesse Owens Pkwy
February 24, 2003 - Deviation added along Broadway Rd to serve the new Ed Pastor Transit Center
January 23, 2012 - Southern end truncated to 7th Ave & Baseline Rd
October 22, 2018 - Southbound trips modified to utilize the bus stop at 1st Ave & Van Buren St instead of traveling into Central Station
October 25, 2021 - Deviation to Ed Pastor Transit Center eliminated and southern end of the route extended along Baseline Rd to Central Ave
October 27, 2025 - Route modified to travel from 7th Ave, along Washington/Jefferson St, and up 1st Ave/2nd St/Central Ave now that long-term construction in downtown is finished
