Route 30 map from 2002

Before March 2000, the bus route along University Drive was split into two different routes. Route 30 was the "Mesa" segment, running from 48th St & 10th Pl... in Tempe to Superstition Springs Center. Route 31 was the "Phoenix/Tempe" segment, running from 32nd St & Broadway Rd in Phoenix to 1st Ave & Dobson Rd... in Mesa. On March 19, 2000, the two routes were combined into just route 30 and traveled from 32nd St & Broadway Rd to Superstition Springs Center. On July 8, 2002, the western end of route 30 was extended to South Mountain Community College and the route was also modified to no longer deviate to East Valley Institute of Technology in Mesa. On February 24, 2003, the route was slightly rerouted to travel a smaller loop in the Hohokam Business Park in Phoenix. On December 29, 2008, the deviation to Mesa Senior Center was replaced with a deviation to Sycamore/Main St Transit Center for the opening of the light rail. On July 27, 2009, the deviation to the Mesa Multi-Generational Center was eliminated and the eastern end of route 30 was truncated from Superstition Springs to serve Banner Baywood Hospital. On January 25, 2010, the deviation along 52nd St was replaced by route 48. On January 24, 2011, the route was rerouted from Banner Baywood Hospital to Sossaman Road. On April 23, 2018, service to South Mountain Community College was reduced to select trips only.
