History
The earliest known routing of route 106 is from 1997, when it traveled from Santa Fe Dr & 105th Ave, up Del Webb Blvd, down Thunderbird Blvd and 111th Ave to Peoria Ave, serving Metrocenter (now Thelda Williams Transit Center) via 28th Dr, then taking Peoria Ave down to 15th Ave, Hatcher Rd, Central Ave, Dunlap Ave, and 3rd St to Sunnyslope Transit Center. From Sunnyslope TC, the route continued back up 3rd St to Hatcher Rd, then up Cave Creek Rd and along Cactus Rd, serving Paradise Valley Mall via Paradise Valley Pkwy and Tatum Blvd, then continuing along Cactus Rd, down 56th St, and along Shea Blvd to Mayo Clinic Scottsdale at Shea Blvd & 134th St. This route remained unchanged until January 25, 2010, when the eastern end was adjusted to loop from Shea Blvd, up 136th St and along Via Linda, then back down 124th St, to replace part of route 114. On July 22, 2013, the eastern end of the route was truncated to Paradise Valley Mall, then truncated again on October 27, 2014, to Sunnyslope Transit Center.
