- March 1, 1993 - Route 170 created, traveling from Bell Rd & 59th Ave along Bell Rd and down Tatum Blvd to the Paradise Valley Mall Transit Center
- Before August 18, 1997 - At some point between 1993 and 1997, the western end of the route was extended to Bell Rd & 75th Ave
- Before March 19, 2000 - At some point between 1997 and 2000, the western end was extended again to Arrowhead Towne Center and the eastern end was rerouted to the Costco at Hayden Rd & 84th St
- July 24, 2006 - Eastern end slightly adjusted to end at Raintree Dr & Northsight Blvd
- October 24, 2016 - Eastern end rerouted down Northsight Blvd from Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd instead of down Hayden Rd and Northsight Blvd
- April 24, 2017 - Previous change quietly reverted, route now travels down Hayden Rd, then Northsight Blvd again
