August 18, 1997 - The earliest known routing of route 45 traveled from the Broadway Rd & 15th Ave, along Broadway Rd and 48th St, looping around Alameda Dr, Fair Ln, Huntington Dr, Potter Rd, and Southern Ave and going back up 48th St. Broadway Rd did not have bus service in Tempe at the time, and route 46 served Broadway Rd in Mesa
August 15, 1999 - By this time, service along Broadway Rd in Tempe was added
March 19, 2000 - Route 46 was merged with route 45, extending route 45 from Broadway Rd & 15th Ave to Superstition Springs Transit Center, with deviations down 48th St to Fair Ln & Fairmont, up Dobson Rd to the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT), and through Downtown Mesa, serving the Mesa Senior Center
January 14, 2002 - Western end of the route extended to Southern Ave & 19th Ave and the deviation down 48th St appeared to be eliminated
April 15, 2002 - Diversion to EVIT eliminated
