- August 18, 1997 - The earliest known routing of route 24 traveled from South Mountain Community College, down 24th St to loop around Francisco Dr, 25th St, and South Mountain Ave, then it traveled back up 24th St, Roosevelt St, 26th St, Portland St, back to 24th St, Glendale Ave, 56th Ave, Glenn Dr, 59th Ave, back to Glendale Ave, looping around at 68th Ave, Palmaire Ave, and 67th Ave, ending at Glendale Ave & 67th Ave
- January 14, 2002 - Some time before this point, the route was streamlined onto 24th St & Glendale Ave, eliminating deviations on Roosevelt St & 26th St and 56th Ave & 59th Ave
- July 24, 2006 - Route modified to divert from 24th St onto Sky Harbor Cir and Buckeye Rd
- July 23, 2007 - Route renumbered to route 70
