- August 18, 1997 - The earliest known routing of route 502 traveled from the State Capitol, through Downtown Phoenix, up Central Ave, Camelback Rd, and State Route 51 to Shea Blvd, ending at Shadow Mountain Park and Ride at 30th St and Shea Blvd
- March 1, 1998 - Northern terminus moved to the new Dreamy Draw Park and Ride at Shea Blvd and SR 51
- January 24, 2005 - Route 502 eliminated because it was a duplicate of route 512
