G Green Line

The Green Line was one of four colored bus routes that directly served major shopping, employment, and entertainment centers around the valley. The Green Line traveled along Thomas Road from Desert Sky Mall Transit Center to Pima Park via a loop down 52nd Street when it was eliminated in 2008.

  • March 1, 1993 - The Blue, Red, Green, and Yellow lines were introduced as part of a bus restructuring plan to directly serve major shopping, employment, and entertainment centers around the valley. The Green Line traveled along Thomas Road from Desert Sky Mall Transit Center to Scottsdale Rd and it seemed to also have an internal route number of 304.
  • August 18, 1997 - Some time before this point, the eastern end of the route was extended to Pima Rd & Thomas Rd and a loop along Encanto Blvd from 35th Ave to 75th Ave and along Osborn Rd between 75th and 83rd Ave was introduced
  • January 12, 2004 - Eastern end of the route modified to end at Pima Park instead of Pima Rd & Thomas Rd
  • July 23, 2007 - Trips along Encanto Blvd were replaced by the new MARY Circulator, streamlining the route along Thomas Rd
  • January 28, 2008 - Loop trips down 52nd St, Roosevelt St, 48th St, and McDowell Rd introduced
  • December 29, 2008 - Green Line replaced with route 29 when the light rail was introduced
